HydrOSTATIC SLIDE TEST-RIG

​Overview
 

• DHI-funded project in industry-academia collaboration was indigenous development of hydrostatic systems - linear slides or rotary spindles

• These hydrostatic systems are supported by a thin film of oil whose pressure and flow are controlled as per the load or impact received

• For developing an indigenous flow controller, a hydrostatic test-rig was developed with more than 30 sensors interfaced on it

My Contribution
 

• I configured all these sensors through a program in Automation Runtime and the data was acquired in Automation Studio, communicated to a database in SQL Server and visualized in a custom-developed GUI in LabVIEW

Achievements

​

• This data acquisition module has helped to observe the trends and gauge the performance of the designs at AMTDC, IIT Madras, that led to development of a new indigenous flow controller that is being patented
